ahh a young guitarist in the work. dont lose hope, and im assuming your going to lessons; take everything you can in. it really does help, never gone to lessons but I can see the difference. Just remember to always feel the music, dont just play it.

could be.. he listened to dream theater, pantera and metallica, as well as iron maiden when he was younger so it very well could be..

That's a good place to start. I would also try blackbird and house of the rising sun. They are very simple and fun to play. Also, look into a program called guitar pro 5. You can download tabs for guitar pro and it will show you the notes, tab and will also play it for you. It is very handy to have.

Yeah, I'm starting to see that. Learning percussion wasn't half as hard as this. After one day of having a guitar, I've gotten frustrated. I may just buy the learning DVD's and stuff so I can learn it all at a slow pace.

I just did. Got an acoustic guitar today. I got the intro to Metallica Nothing Else Matters. It's tough, but I won't stop until I get the whole song. Lol. And tuning the guitar was the hardest part so far. And I've been playing by ear, I learn the notes next week sometime.

I like the way how in the composition, they use a Raised 7th at the end of each phrase; a common stereo-type in Metal... Andy McKee's Metal influence coming out maybe??? :L Amazing song :D

well if you really want to play guitar you shouldn't put it off. I started when I was 18 when my friend was selling his acoustic for $60. Since then I have picked and electric and a small. I have be playing for 2 years and i would say that I am finally getting good. Just takes time, but pick up a guitar.

The difference is, the talent that these guys have is huge compared to Craig David. Sure he's an alright singer, but could he compose something like this? Not a chance.
